I'm catching up on my mail  so this is a little late. However the 
back of my '78 Traveler brochure says:

Max Gross Combined Weight - 10,000 lbs
Hitch class - III
Hitch type - equalizer
Max tongue load - 15% of gross trailer weight
Transmission - auto T-407, manual T428 close ratio & HD clutch
Tires - HR78x15 LRB radial
Heavy duty cooling
61 amp alt and 390 CCA battery
engine - V345 with 3.73 gears (V304 not recommended)
