OFFROAD and brake hose?

Well ihers I had my first day of urban OFFROAD experience today! Doing
about 25 in rush hour traffic downtown Green Bay... three cats ahead of me
25 feet to go hit the brakes ... HIT THE BRAKES ... no brakes!!!!! Quick
decision time impact and send three into the intersection OR find out the
exact width of a 800a without a ruler!!! I opted for the width measure...
folded bothmirrors on the MEASUREMENT! in between a building and traffic
light, travelling along a offroad sidewalk, curb, beep beep get outa the
way pedestrian!!! pulled around building and shut off key and snubbed to a
halt.. .three deep breathes got out and noticed mirrors folded slight
scraps no dents gas cap still on... limped down the road and started
inspecting... brake hose rubbed through,did get a "nice drivin" from the
local law enforcement no fine nothin! any body know the NAPA number for
front left brake hose 800a 1968 I guess?I krimped the line and re-filled
resevoir drove home laughing at my luck (it was the 12th today and it is
thursday right?)tommorrow I look for local parts and do no driving on the
13th.... wahoo offroad!!! A.C.
