RE: Glove box for 1979 Scout

Scouts have the same type of cardboard glove boxes as the VW Bugs.
I don't know if the replacements are an perfect fit but back in my VW
building days we used to get heavy plastic replacement boxes for $5-$10.
They were pretty heavy, didn't get wet and smell like mildew in the
rain,
are about the same size and shape of the Scout II box, and the opening
could be bent into different shapes before it was installed.  The VW box
was held in place by a steel strap but I'm sure it could be installed
using
screws like the Scout II box.

Just a thought.  I got rid of all my VW stuff (except the turbo kit I
never
used) or else I would give it a try.
