Re: cab mount ?s
Rob,
I will check my Scout when I get home, but I'll tell you as much as I
remember. I had the same procedure done about two months ago. I bought
the two piece cab mounts from SSSpecialists. I also bought poly bushings
for $80 for the whole set. The garage said they were just universal
bushings, so shop around locally.
My floor was pretty rusted out and the mounts definitely did not cover the
footprint area. As I said, I'll check exactly when I get home, but
the shop did extensive cutting and welding of fabbed metal. They just
used flat pieces of steel though. It didn't seem necessary to get
replacement floor panels.
I don't know if you can just cut out the the one mount and replace it
without doing the whole side. My shop had the whole side propped up for a
time, which is very disconcerting. I would definitely not drive anywhere
without all the bolts connecting the body to the frame. Just the thought
of having to stop short and the frame stopping while the body kept moving
is enough to make me value the money I paid to get this work done.
It cost $600 just in labor to change all the bushings and weld in the new
mounts and front floors, so being able to do the work yourself is a great
boon.
Let me know if you need measurements and such, and good luck!
