Re: Scout 80 - temperature gauge help

John,

I printed off your FAQ entry, and took it to my local
electronics supply store. $10.13 later, I walked out
the door with all the necessary components. Spent about
15 minutes soldering and bolting in my living room. Took
the unit out to the garage for bench testing.... My eyes
almost bugged out of my head.... 4.99 volts output. Hey
this thing is going to work. Mounted it to the firewall
behind the dash, hooked up all of the wires to the guages,
and it DID work. I now know how much fuel I have in the
tanks, and also what my operating temperature *range* is...

I thank you sir for your entry and your response to my
problem...

For those of you out there with Scout 80's with the same
problem, this fix worked for me, and it was relatively
cheap to boot.....

Thanks again,

P.S. John, didn't I see somewhere that you are from Olympia
WA??? I was up there over Christmas visiting my sister who
lives there....
