The carb saga continues, Tom's (et. al) age

Well, I called NAPA today and they said my gasket was in.  So I make the
25 minute drive there only to find out they had the gasket that goes
between the carb and the intake.  How they got that gasket confused with
the float bowl gasket, I don't know.  Anyway the guy pulled out his book
(smart guy too, didn't try to find it on the computer :)), and started
looking.  He found a picture of the one I needed.  The gasket number is
2-7665, for those of you who need/want it.  It also listed 1910 and 1940
as ones it would work on.  Those numbers are the list numbers stamped on
the carb.  Should say "list" then a four-digit number, at least mine did.
My list number is 2494, by the way.  Anyway, I hope this helps someone
sometime.  Will get back to you all when I _do_ get the right gasket.
Should be in tomorrow.  I will try to get it between work and my last
final.  Will try to post as soon as I can.
As for Tom's age, I too had no clue he was as young as he is.  I am just
three years younger than him, and I have no where near the amount of
mechanical knowledge he has.  Of course I don't have manuals (yet!)
either.  Wait, did I say three years younger?  I guess if he is 21, that
makes me TWO years younger.  I guess I forgot that I just had a birthday
Saturday. <grin>  Oh, no...   I *am* getting old, I'm already forgetting
my age.:)  Not trying to make fun of the older digest members, I honestly
*did* forget that I am now 19.  But if age was directly figured by how
long we owned an IH, as was suggested by someone, I would only be 10
months old, as of Dec 28 this year.  I guess you know it's bad when you
can remember exactly when you got your IH, but not remember just how old
YOU are, huh?  Anyway, I may be just *two* years younger than Tom, but I
still don't think I have developed his thought process yet. :)
