Hey folks!

Is there an easy way to take off the shift lever on a D20 so that I can 
slide the tranny/tranfer case back so that the input shaft of the 
transmission clears the bell housing?  Is there enough room behind the 
shift lever to be able to slide the transfer case back to take only the 
transfer case off. This is on a 77 scout with t-19. I have this idea 
that it may be easier on my back if I take them off and on in three 
parts--transfer case/transmission/bellhousing.
Any advice is appreciated.
