Clay et al,
I mounted a British electric fuel pump in the back of my S2 bed.  I 
always like these pumps and the sounds they make.  It is in the bed 
because it was originally installed as a demo test and I have not 
made it permanent.  But, if it acts up, I can readily smack it with a 
2x4, so I may leave it be.  Never had a mechanical pump, so I do not 
know how it compares. Later, Mark.
